Iran to Host 16th International Gas Research Conference in 2020, NIGC

On the closing ceremony of ‘15th International Gas Union Research Conference (IGRC Rio 2017)’ held on 26th of May 2017 in Brazil, National Iranian Gas Co. (NIGC) was announced to host the 16th IGRC Conference in Iran.


According to the report of the public relations of the NIGC, Saeed Pakseresht, director of Research and Technology at NIGC, stated: “One of the main parts of IGRC 2020, which is proposed to be held in Iran for the first time, is to hold ‘Techno Market’. As it may sound, this market aims to exchange technology, novel technologies in particular, as a bridge to connect with humanitarian ideas and humanitarian innovation in terms of their profitability to mankind.”


IGRC 2017, the greatest global event in the natural gas industry focused on research, development and innovation, held for the first time in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil between May 24 and 26.


In Brazil, the Conference 2017 edition, with the motto “Natural Gas: Catalyzing the Future”, organized by the Brazilian Petroleum, Gas and Biofuels Institute (IBP). The program included plenary sessions, presentation of technical papers in poster sessions and technical visits.


The International Gas Union Research Conference (IGRC) is the globally most recognized gas research conference and attracts gas company executives, researchers and others from all over the world which held every three years in different countries under the auspices of International Gas Union (IGU).


During the three days of the event, different sessions had demonstrated how natural gas combine with renewables. Authors from more than 25 countries have presented around 300 technical papers. New technologies and insights have been showed, proving that this is the greatest global event in the natural gas industry on R&D.
