Pakistan Govt in Bid to Ease Power Purchase from Iran

According to the report, a senior Pakistan government official said Islamabad is seeking ways to facilitate the purchase of electricity and gas from Iran.

 

Commerce Minister Khurram Dastgir Khan said that during his upcoming visit to Tehran, Iran he would hold talks on cooperation in the energy sector, particularly in the purchase of electricity for Gwadar port, source reported. 

 

Pakistan is willing to import electricity from Iran for all areas along the Iran-Pakistan border, he said.

 

He added that in the next few weeks, impediments to banking cooperation between the two countries could be removed.
