Oil Refining Capacity West of Karoon Exploitation Up Soon

Director of the Production and Operations Department at Arvandan Oil and Gas Company Ramin Hatami says crude oil refining capacity of oil field west of Karoon will increase once the second train of the desalination and exploitation unit comes into operation.


Hatami said executive operations for commissioning of the second train of refining in West Karoon desalination and exploitation plant ended successfully to help the unit refine 55,000 barrels of crude a day.


Once the second train is operational, the third unit will be immediately on stream, said the official, adding that on the whole, 110,000 barrels per day oil will be added to the refining capacity in the joint fields west of Karoon.


The West Karoon Exploitation and Desalination Factory has been designed to run with the capacity of refining 165,000 barrels per day oil obtained from South Azadegan, North and South Yaran, Jafir, Sohrab, Sepehr and Susangerd fields.
