Iraqi Kirkuk Pipeline hit by ‘Technical Defect’

Date : Sep 16, 2016

A pipeline pumping around 90,000 bpd from a field near Kirkuk to the Turkish port of Ceyhan via Kurdistan reportedly stopped operations on Monday morning due to a “technical defect“.

According to the report, North Oil Company (NOC) sources said on Wednesday that maintenance teams are working to repair the pipeline, which is expected to resume operations within 24 hours.

The defect in the pipeline from a field near Dibis, 45 km northwest of Kirkuk, caused crude oil to spill.
