India’s NLC Starts Work for Solar Power Plants

State-run Neyveli Lignite Corporation (NLC) India has formally begun the construction work for solar power projects with 4,000 MW capacity in Neyveli.

 

These projects are being taken up under the National Solar Mission announced by the Centre.

 

As part of this, construction of a 65 MW solar power plant on 325 acre in the township began with NLC India.

 

About 2.38 lakh solar photovoltaic modules (solar panels), each with a power generating capacity of 280/310 watt will be installed under the project.

 

The power generated will be synchronised with Tamil Nadu Electricity Board. On the 130 MW solar power project being set up at Barsingsar, Rajasthan, the statement further said, it was waiting to sign the power purchase agreement with the government of Rajasthan in this regard.
