Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), the nation's largest fuel retailer, yesterday announced Ranjan Kumar Mohapatra has taken over as Director (Human Resources) on the company's board with effect from today. Prior to his promotion as Director HR, Mohapatra was IOC’s Executive Director in charge of West Bengal State Office.
Mohapatra holds a graduation degree in mechanical engineering from BITS, Pilani, with a Post-Graduate Diploma in management from Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar. According to the company, Mohapatra was one of the chief architects of the auto fuel quality (BS-III/BS-IV) up-gradation programme in India.
Mohapatra also served as Managing Director (MD) of IndianOil (Mauritius) Ltd, the company’s overseas subsidiary, from 2012 to 2015. He was also on the board of Mer Rouge Oil Storage Terminal, a joint venture formed by four Multi-National Companies (MNCs) to set up modern oil storage facilities in Mauritius.
According to the statement, Mohapatra has presented papers in several national and international forums and published articles in international journals and supply chain reference books. He will replace Verghese Cherian as Director HR.
