Date : Dec 04, 2017

The committee assigned in assuming the Municipal Council duties chaired by Mohammed Bushehri agreed to allocate a pipeline to serve the LNG import project in Al-Zor area.

"The project of importing natural gas came at the request of the Kuwait Integrated Petroleum Industries Company," the council's secretary-general Yousef Al-Saqabi said in statement.

The committee is continuing to present all transactions received to the General Secretariat of the Municipal Council immediately and in accordance with the sequence of transactions received by the Committee, Al-Saqabi added.

The Kuwaiti Cabinet has approved a draft decree on dissolving the Municipal Council and a draft decree to form a committee charged with the powers on October 9, due to lack of progress and mass resignations on the part of municipal officials.

The Al-Zor LNG terminal is projected to have a refining capacity of 615,000 barrels per day, some 45 percent of the national refining capacity.
