The board of directors of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) has appointed several new senior oil officials including a new deputy CEO of state-owned upstream operator Kuwait Oil Company (KOC).
Nayef al-Anzi, a former KOC technical support group manager, has been appointed as the new deputy CEO of KOC.
The director of corporate planning at state-owned downstream operator Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) has been promoted to deputy CEO for planning and financial affairs at KNPC.
Other new appointments include a new deputy CEO for financial and administrative affairs at Kuwait Gulf Oil Company (KGOC), a new deputy managing director for global marketing in KPC, and a new deputy managing director for administrative affairs at KPC.
The reshuffle comes amid political turmoil. Emir Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah accepted the resignation of the cabinet led by Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber al-Mubarak al-Hamad al-Sabah.
The government had been appointed following snap elections in November last year.
