The commissioning of Kishen Ganga Hydro Electric Power Project (KGHEP) with a capacity of 330 MW is likely to miss its December 2017 deadline by two months.
The project is under construction at Gurez and Bandipora.
The delay is being caused by some pending work. Earlier, the project was supposed to be commissioned in September 2017. On its failure to meet this deadline, the deadline has been extended to December 2017 end.
The project is owned by NHPC with Hindustan Construction Company as the executing agency, at a sanctioned cost Rs 3,642.04 crore which was later revised to Rs 5,783.17 crore.
Ninety percent of the work has been completed as the 37mtr high dam has been filled with water.
