Iran Launches Damghan-Kiasar-Sari-Neka Gas Transfer Pipeline

Iran oil minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh inaugurated Damghan-Kiasar-Sari-Neka gas transfer pipeline on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 that will ensure a steady supply of clean fossil fuel to northern regions, particularly in the cold season when demand soars.


According to the report of the public relations of the National Iranian Gas Company, the 170-kilometers pipeline, stretching from the city of Damghan in Semnan Province to Neka in Mazandaran Province, has the capacity to transfer 40 million cubic meters of gas to Northern provinces.


With the coming on stream of this project, gas supply in Northern provinces is no longer dependent on gas imports.


Damghan-Kiasar-Sari-Neka gas pipeline is expected overcome the shortage of gas in the provinces of Golestan, Mazandaran, and Gilan.
