Emicool's Registers 12% Growth in District Cooling Capacity in H1

Emirates District Cooling (Emicool), a leading district cooling service provider in the region and a wholly owned subsidiary of Dubai Investments, has registered 355,000 tonnes of refrigeration (RT) by connecting to more than 2,200 buildings across the UAE, during the first half of 2019.

 

Announcing the big achievement, Emicool said it had posted a 12% growth in district cooling capacity compared to the same period last year.

 

With the current total operating capacity of 355,000 RT from its plant within DIP and MotorCity, Emicool provides district cooling services to DIP, Dubai Motor City, Dubai Sports City, Uptown Mirdif, Palazzo Versace, Damac Hills and Mirdiff Hills, Night Souk by Nakheel, RTA Metro Stations (Expo line) & DWTC at Expo 2020, increasing Emicool’s refrigerating tonnes per hour [RTH] production capabilities by 11% as compared to the first quarter of 2018.

 

According to recent reports by Global Market Insights, the Middle East District Cooling Market size will exceed $12 billion by 2024.

 

"With increasing investments towards infrastructure development coupled with growing demand for reliable and cost-efficient cooling systems, Emicool continues to provide customized cooling solutions," remarked its CEO Dr Adib Moubadder.

 

"Customer friendly payment plans, adoption of B2B or B2C approaches are just two among several solutions that stem out of a thorough understanding of the needs of the project and the customer, paving the way for increasing RT year on year," he added.

 

The Dubai Investments subsidiary said it was working towards digital transformation by Q4 2019.

 

Emicool Research & Development will operate first unmanned machinery space (UMS) Plant associated with artificial intelligence SMART Systems, said the top official.  

 

"With district cooling systems becoming an integral part of the planning and design of modern buildings in Dubai, Emicool’s statistics of projects, agreements and contracts in Q1 2019, reflect the awareness of owners and developers of the importance of energy-saving and environmentally friendly district cooling systems," noted Dr Moubadder.

 

Emicool’s plans for expansion through a service model serving the residential, commercial and industrial sectors within the UAE while also covering sectors outside of the UAE, reiterates the efforts and commitment to deliver highly efficient district cooling services, according to the highest international standards and best practices, he added.
