Ultra Gas & Energy Plans to Invest Rs 4,500 cr to Build LNG Storage Facilities

Ultra Gas and Energy (UGE) is planning to set up 300 liquefied natural gas (LNG) storage facilities across the country.

Each storage facility and the cryogenic trucks linked to it will cost between Rs 12 crore and Rs 15 crore, which means an investment of approximately Rs 4,500 crore will be made over the next three to four years.

The company would set up small storage facilities at the customers’ premises and keep topping up the gas by supply vehicles.

Each of the 300 storage facilities would be capable of dispensing 50 tonne of LNG a day. The first 20 of these facilities are expected to be operational by the end of 2022. The remaining will be set up by 2023-24.
