Dubai’s Phase V-900 MW PV Project Construction Started

China Energy announced in a statement that the third phase of the fifth-phase 900 megawatt photovoltaic project in Dubai, which is being built by China Energy Engineering Zhejiang Thermal Power Co., Ltd., has been officially started.

The fifth phase of the 900 MW photovoltaic project in Dubai is located in the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park in Dubai, UAE, covering a total area of 10.17 square kilometers.

The 900 MW project will be completed in three phases, each of 300 MW, the first phase of the project will be completed ahead of schedule in June 2021. 100 MW of the second phase project has been put into operation, and the rest (200 MW) have also entered the peak construction period. The third phase of the project is planned to be completed and put into operation in April 2023.

After the project is completed, based on the calculation of 900 MW photovoltaic (2.613 million solar cell modules), it can provide about 2.268 billion kWh of electricity to the local area every year, which will provide local residents in Dubai with a powerful “green” clean power supply.
