PCBL Plans to Foray into Water Treatment, O&G Chemicals Segment

PCBL, part of the RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group plans to foray into global specialty segments of water treatment chemicals and oil and gas chemicals.

 

PCBL's Board of Directors has approved the acquisition of Pune-based specialty chemicals company Aquapharm Chemicals (ACPL) for Rs 3,800 crore. This marks the company's first milestone in creating a multi-platform global specialty chemical business portfolio.

 

The acquisition is expected to be completed within two-three months from the date of share purchase agreement (SPA) execution. The proposed transaction for the acquisition of ACPL will be financed through a mix of internal accruals and external fundraise by the company and/or its affiliates.

 

ACPL, which produces a wide range of phosphonate products, offers water treatment solutions across diverse end-markets. PCBL, formerly known as Phillips Carbon Black boasts of a product portfolio which caters to industries such as tyres, rubber, plastics, inks, batteries, and conductives, among others.
