Iraq MoO Inspect the North Refinery Reconstruction Projects in Baiji

A government delegation that included the Advisor to the Prime Minister for Energy Affairs, Mr. Fayyad Hassan Nimah, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil for Liquidation Affairs, Mr. Hamid Younis, the Director General of the Oil Projects Company, and a number of officials visited the meeting last month.

 

The North Refineries Company in Baiji. This visit aims to see on the ground the stages of implementation of the North Refinery rehabilitation and reconstruction project.

 

The visiting delegation listened to an explanation of the stages and rates of completion presented by the General Director of the Northern Refineries Company, Mr. Adnan Muhammad Hammoud, and the technical and engineering team supervising the reconstruction and rehabilitation operations.

 

This visit comes in implementation of the directives of the Prime Minister, Mr. Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, and the Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs, Mr. Hayan Abdul-Ghani, to expedite the implementation of rehabilitation and reconstruction projects for the Al-Samoud refineries in Baiji within the planned timing, to reach previous production rates. It is noteworthy that the national effort was able to complete the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the Salah al-Din 1 and 2 refineries, with a capacity of 70 thousand barrels per day for each, while work continues day and night to rebuild and rehabilitate the northern refineries with a capacity of 150 thousand barrels per day.
