Tata Power Renewable to Set up a 12.5 MW Captive Solar Plant in Maharashtra

Tata Power Renewable Energy (TPREL) will set up a 12.5 MW captive solar plant at Aachegaon in Maharashtra. The wholly-owned subsidiary of Tata Power has already signed a power delivery agreement (PDA) with Endurance Technologies through a special purpose vehicle (SPV) TP Green Nature.

 

The plant will generate 27.5 million units (MUs) of electricity every year, and would help in mitigating carbon emissions annually. The project is expected to be completed within 12 months of the signing of the PDA.

 

The partnership will support Endurance Technologies, which is a leading auto component manufacturer in adopting sustainable energy solutions. TPREL will support energy-intensive businesses across multiple industries to actively adopt green energy solutions, which will finally assist in the nation's energy transition journey.

 

TPREL, which has proven experience in tailoring energy solutions for various industries aims to support energy-intensive businesses. With the proposed captive solar power plant, TPREL's overall renewable energy portfolio has reached a total capacity of 7,889 MW.

 

The company's operational capacity stands at 4,188 MW comprising 3,185 MW of solar and 1,003 MW of wind energy.
