Adani Wind Plans to Invest Over Rs 2000cr for Capacity Expansion

Adani Wind, the wind energy solutions division of Adani New Industries (ANIL), is planning to invest Rs 2,000 crore to build a five GW capacity in five years. With this, the company seeks to augment its capacity to 10 GW in another two years. It will expand its capacity in four phases.

 

At present, the company has an overall capacity of 1.5 GW and manufactures 300 wind turbine generators. In the next five years, it targets to reach five GW capacity annually, and in another two years, it plans to commission 10 GW annually.

 

Adani Wind’s wind turbine generator (WTG) has received type certification from Germany's WindGuard GmbH, enabling it to start series production for global markets. So far, it has invested Rs 300 crore to establish a WTG manufacturing facility in Mundra, Gujarat.

 

In addition, the company is also planning to set up a technology centre in Germany in the next six months.
