Keir Secures Contracts Worth $15.7mn from Saudi Electricity Company

Saudi-based Keir International has secured contracts worth SAR 59 million ($15.7 million) from the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) for replacement of a 132 kV underground electrical cable and a conversion project at its station in Riyadh.

A major player in the region, Keir specializes in the execution, operation and maintenance of public utility projects with focus on power and electricity generation, water, gas and petroleum.

The first contract worth SAR 34.1 million was awarded to Keir for the replacement of a cable circuit with a new one at a station in Riyadh city, while the second one was for implementation of the 132-kV high-voltage cable conversion project between the central station and Riyadh station.

The scope of work includes re-routing of the existing 132 kV underground electrical cable from the substation to central station with a new cable as well as associated communication work.

Last month too, Keir had won big from the kingdom's National Grid Company. As per the SAR 253.2 million contract, the company will link the Al Nazim Bulk Supply Point (BSP) with a 132 kV network in Riyadh.
