BPCL Announces Key Senior Management Reshuffle in Gas and I&C Segment

Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), one of India’s leading public sector oil and gas companies, has announced a significant realignment in its senior management structure, effective July 14, 2025. These changes are aimed at reinforcing its strategic focus in the Gas and Industrial & Commercial (I&C) businesses.

Akshay Wadhwa, Executive Director and Business Head (Gas), has tendered his resignation and was formally relieved from his duties at the close of business on July 14, 2025. His departure marks the end of a notable tenure in BPCL’s gas business vertical.

Taking over the reins from Wadhwa, Rahul Tandon, previously Business Head (Industrial & Commercial), has been appointed as the new Business Head (Gas), effective July 14, 2025.

To fill the role vacated by Tandon, Manoj Menon, Chief General Manager, Marketing (Industrial & Commercial), has been elevated to the position of Business Head (Industrial & Commercial), also effective July 14, 2025.

The reshuffle comes at a time when BPCL is aggressively expanding its footprint in the gas sector and industrial energy solutions, as part of its long-term strategy to become a net-zero energy company by 2040. The company is also in the midst of leadership realignments at the board level, following recent appointments and an ongoing search for a full-time Chairman and Managing Director.
