Iraq Inspects Progress of Work at the Majnoon Oil Field

To follow up on the projects being implemented in the Majnoon oil field in Basra Governorate and to ensure the success of the national effort to develop the field, Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Minister of Oil, Engineer Hayan Abdul-Ghani Al-Sawad, inspected the projects being implemented at the field, including the DS2 station project, which is 85% complete and is expected to be completed by the end of this year.

During a meeting chaired by a number of members of Parliament, the Undersecretary of the Ministry for Extraction Affairs, the Director General of Basra Oil Company, and the engineering company's staff, the Minister emphasized the importance of implementing strategic projects to develop the field according to the prepared plans and specified timelines. This is important for increasing oil production rates and gas investment, in support of the national economy.

During the visit, the Minister inaugurated the new guest house building and a gymnasium within the field's residential complex.

The Minister was accompanied during his visit to the field by the Undersecretary of the Ministry for Extraction Affairs, Mr. Basim Mohammed Khudair, the Director General of Basra Oil Company, Mr. Basim Abdul Karim, and a number of company officials.
