INOX Air Products Commissions 21.3 MWp Solar Power Plant in UP

INOX Air Products, India’s largest producer of medical and industrial gases, has commissioned a 21.3 MWp solar power plant to be constructed in Uttar Pradesh.

Built at an investment cost of Rs 1 billion, the open access plant has been commissioned by Sunsure Energy, a Haryana-based solar power developer.

Siddharth Jain, Managing Director of INOX Air Products said, “With the commissioning of our first open access captive solar power plant in India, we have taken a giant step towards our Net Zero goals.”

The solar power plant at Bangarmau in Unnao, will be supplying over 31 million units of green power to INOXAP’s units in Uttar Pradesh, enabling an offset of 28,000 tonnes of CO2 every year for the next 25 years.

By increasing the use of renewable energy across its ASUs in India, INOX aims to increase the share of green oxygen in its overall oxygen production.
