Bahrain: Oil and Environment Minister Urges Collective Efforts to Reach Zero Neutrality

Oil and Environment Minister, Special Envoy for Climate Affairs, Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak bin Daina, has stressed that zero neutrality can be reached through sharing the responsibility for achieving climate security, redoubling efforts during the coming stages, and adapting efforts to reduce emissions to global efforts.

 

The minister was briefed about the strategic plan adopted by APM Terminals Bahrain to achieve sustainable development goals and protect the environment, including its efforts to reduce carbon emissions and reach zero neutrality.

 

He highlighted the importance of strengthening cooperation between government institutions and the industrial and economic sectors, in order to fulfil the commitments of the Kingdom at the 26th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP26), aiming to achieve climate security and confront the effects of climate change, in addition to the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships (MARPOL) aiming to preserve the marine environment by completely eliminating pollution by oil and other harmful substances and minimizing accidental discharges of these substances.
