Siemens Energy Secures $232mn Service Contracts for Iraq Power Plants

Siemens Energy has been awarded long-term service contracts for three power plants in Iraq, the company said, as part of a broader energy cooperation agreed in January.

Five year contracts have been signed for the Al Sadr, Kirkuk and Al Rasheed power stations, which generate more than 1 gigawatts of electricity, Siemens Energy said, adding these will cover maintenance and servicing.

The agreement is worth 220 million euros ($232 million), a person familiar with the matter said.
