IOC’s Refineries to Build an Energy-Secure and Self-Reliant India

IndianOil’s Refineries Division is focusing on strengthening India’s energy security and self-reliance through higher domestic LPG production, refinery integration, specialty products and green hydrogen, Director (Refineries) Arvind Kumar said.

Kumar made the remarks while addressing the 67th Indian Oil Day celebrations at the Refineries Headquarters. Employees across the Refineries Division participated in the celebrations virtually.

Highlighting Indian Oil’s role in ensuring uninterrupted energy supplies, Kumar commended the Refineries Division teams for maintaining seamless operations and energy supplies during the recent West Asia crisis. He also highlighted the increase in LPG production by nearly 35 percent, which helped reduce import dependence and strengthen domestic availability.

“We cannot choose the environment in which we operate. But we can choose how we respond to it,” Kumar said, underlining the need for the organization to remain agile and resilient amid an increasingly complex operating environment.
