KPC Approves $285mn Water Separation Contract for Rawdatain Oilfield

Kuwait has approved the award of a new contract for water separation facilities at the Northern Rawdatain oilfield as part of its long-term strategy to expand crude production capacity.

The Supreme Purchasing Committee for Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) approved a request from Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) to award the project.

The scope covers a water separation facility at Gathering Centre 25 (GC 25) in the Northern Rawdatain field, together with a pumping facility at Gathering Centre 30 (GC 30).

The contract is valued at an estimated KD117 million ($285 million).

KOC submitted the award request after the selected contractor presented the lowest bid that met the required technical and commercial conditions.

The identity of the successful bidder was not disclosed.

Final award procedures will be completed through Kuwait’s Central Agency for Public Tenders.

The project is expected to strengthen water-handling infrastructure at the field, supporting more efficient crude production and KOC’s wider plans to increase Kuwait’s long-term output capacity.
