PDO Signs PPA with PWP to Supply 200 MW Capacity to Oman’s Grid

Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) has signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Nama Power and Water Procurement Company (PWP) for the supply of up to 200 MW of power generation capacity to Oman’s national electricity grid.

Under the agreement, PDO will supply electricity generated from its existing power generation assets to the national grid for a period of five years.

The agreement covers the provision of up to 200 MW of generation capacity, supporting the country’s growing electricity demand and contributing to the reliability and security of Oman’s power supply.

The PPA forms part of PDO’s strategy to maximize the value and utilization of its power generation assets while supporting the Sultanate’s evolving energy requirements. The agreement will enable the integration of additional generation capacity into the national grid, strengthening the country’s energy security and supporting long-term economic and industrial growth.

The agreement also reflects continued efforts to optimize existing energy infrastructure and improve the efficient utilization of power generation resources in line with Oman’s broader energy sector objectives.
