THINK Gas Expands Natural Gas Network Across Kanchipuram, Chengalpattu in TN

THINK Gas, a leading city gas distribution (CGD) company, has expanded its natural gas infrastructure across the Kanchipuram and Chengalpattu geographical areas, strengthening access to cleaner energy solutions.

The company has completed more than 500 km of steel and medium density polyethylene (MDPE) pipeline networks, enabling the supply of natural gas to domestic, commercial and industrial consumers across the region. As part of its future growth strategy, THINK Gas plans to further extend its pipeline network beyond 550 km by 2026.

The company also aims to nearly double its domestic piped natural gas (DPNG) customer base, increasing household connections from the current 10,125 to 20,000. This expansion is expected to improve energy accessibility while promoting the adoption of cleaner fuel alternatives. THINK Gas currently operates 52 compressed natural gas (CNG) stations in the region and intends to increase the number to 70 within the next year.

The expanded network is expected to benefit more than 30,000 vehicles and support the shift towards environmentally friendly transportation. Since entering Kanchipuram and Chengalpattu in 2021, the company has steadily invested in pipeline infrastructure, CNG stations and customer connectivity, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable urban energy development and cleaner mobility solutions.
