Oman begins its First LNG deliveries to German Firm despite Iran War

Oman has begun the first deliveries of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to a German company despite the war in Iran, said a spokesperson for the German state-owned gas supplier Sefe.

 

The deliveries are currently unaffected by the developments in the Gulf region and have commenced as planned, said the spokesperson. "From today's perspective, there are no concerns regarding future deliveries," added the spokesperson.

 

Oman LNG signed a sales and purchase agreement with Germany's Secure Energy for Europe (Sefe) in March 2024.

 

The agreement follows a prior commitment where Oman LNG inkeda binding term sheet to supply Sefe with 0.4 million metric tonnes a year of LNG starting in 2026.
