JSW Energy Set to Commission Two Wind Blade Manufacturing Plants

JSW Energy is set to commission two new wind blade manufacturing plants in 2025 as part of its strategy to enhance domestic capabilities and reduce dependence on imports.

The plants are aimed at meeting the company’s internal requirements, “to de-risk and optimize costs", reflecting a broader push toward localization in renewable energy infrastructure. Currently, while complete wind turbine systems, including generators and towers, are being manufactured in India with Indian steel, certain components still lack sufficient domestic capability, necessitating imports.

Wind blades, in particular, are among those still being sourced internationally despite domestic assembly operations. The new plants are expected to address this gap, strengthen the supply chain, and boost India’s wind energy ecosystem. JSW Energy’s initiative aligns with India's push for renewable energy self-reliance, and strengthening domestic manufacturing.
