Iraqi PM Inaugurates Al-Amarah Water Project in Missan

Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani has inaugurated the Al-Amarah Unified Major Water Project, a 16,000 m³/hour facility aimed at securing potable water supply for all areas of Al-Amarah City in Maysan [Missan] Province.

Al-Sudani emphasized that completing stalled infrastructure projects is a top government priority, particularly those that have faced long delays and financial waste. He noted that the Al-Amarah water project, first launched in 2009, had been severely delayed, contributing to citizen hardships.

The 100-donum facility includes a water treatment plant, three secondary booster stations, three dual river crossings over the Tigris River and Al-Kahla regulator, and 32 km of transmission pipelines.

The Prime Minister praised the efforts of the Ministry of Construction, Housing, and Municipalities, as well as the provincial municipal departments, for their role in delivering this long-awaited project.
