Hindustan Power Inks MoU with Assam Government to Invest Rs 620-cr in RE

Ratul Puri’s Hindustan Power has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Assam government to invest Rs 620 crore in solar power and battery energy storage projects.

Announced at the Advantage Assam 2.0 Summit, this initiative aligns with the company’s goal of achieving a 5 GW energy portfolio within three years. The investment includes Rs 500 crore for a 100 MW solar plant and Rs 120 crore for a 100 MW battery energy storage system, enhancing Assam’s energy infrastructure and creating over 5,000 man-days of employment.

The MoU was signed with the blessings of Chief Minister, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, and under the guidance of Minister of Power, Skill, Employment & Entrepreneurship, and Medical Education & Research, Prasanta Phukan.

Hindustan Power has a strong presence in global and domestic markets, having pioneered India’s first five MW solar plant and Asia’s first 30 MW renewable energy project.
