TP Solar Wins Rs 455-cr Contract in Maharashtra

Tata Power Renewable Energy (TPREL), a subsidiary of Tata Power, has won a Rs 455-crore contract from Maharashtra State Power Generation Company (MSPGCL) to supply 300 MWp of ALMM-certified solar modules for the Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana (MSKVY) 2.0 project.

TP Solar, the solar manufacturing arm of TPREL, will deliver these modules across Maharashtra within the year. This award is part of MSPGCL’s 750 MWp tender, finalized through an e-reverse auction (eRA). TP Solar operates India's largest single-location solar cell and module manufacturing plant in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu, with a capacity of 4.3 GW each for cells and modules.

The facility, designed for future expansion, represents a Rs 4,300 crore investment by Tata Power, promoting indigenization in solar manufacturing. Using advanced technologies like TOPCon and Mono PERC, the plant produces high-quality ALMM-certified and DCR modules with locally made cells.

This initiative reinforces Tata Power's commitment to supporting India's net-zero carbon goals and strengthening its leadership in solar rooftop and utility-scale projects.
