ADNOC Distribution to Power 100 Service Stations With Solar Energy

ADNOC Distribution has launched the second phase of its solar energy program, in collaboration with Emerge, to install solar photovoltaic (PV) panels at 100 service stations across Abu Dhabi.

This initiative will reduce greenhouse gas emissions and operational energy costs while enhancing the company's sustainability efforts.

The solar panels are expected to generate 30,000 MWh of renewable energy annually, avoiding over 13,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions — equivalent to the carbon absorbed by 250,000 tree seedlings for 10 years.

This expansion follows the success of the first phase in Dubai, where solar panels were installed at 28 stations.

ADNOC aims to reduce its operational carbon intensity by 25% by 2030 as part of its broader sustainability goals, contributing to the UAE's net-zero ambitions.

The project is part of ADNOC Distribution's larger decarbonization strategy, which includes AI tools, biofuels, and sustainable financing.
