Oil Pipeline Company, Iraqi Ports Discuss Infrastructure Development

Under the direction of Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs, Eng. Hayan Abdul-Ghani Al-Sawad, and with the support of the Undersecretary for Distribution Affairs, Mr. Ali Ma'arij Al-Bahadeli, and within the framework of strengthening cooperation between the oil and maritime transport sectors, the Director General of the Oil Pipelines Company, Mr. Ali Abdul-Karim Al-Mousawi, met in Basra with the Director General of the General Company for Iraqi Ports, Dr. Farhan Al-Fartousi, to discuss ways to develop work at the Ministry of Oil's docks and enhance their production and operational capabilities.

During the meeting, a meeting was held to discuss mechanisms for enhancing cooperation and coordination between the two companies to serve the national interest by increasing the capacity and reception capabilities of ships, vessels, and tankers at Khor Al-Zubair Port. The project to develop and rehabilitate docks (2, 3, and 4) was also discussed, as were the challenges facing the project's implementation and ways to address them.

The two sides emphasized the need for continued joint cooperation to develop the infrastructure of the oil docks, which would contribute to supporting the supply of gas and fuel to power plants, as well as supporting the national economy.
