Hero Future Energies Commissions Solar Power Project in Karnataka

Hero Future Energies (HFE) has announced the commissioning of a 29 MW solar power project in Chitradurga, Karnataka. This open-access solar facility will cater to the power needs of the commercial and industrial (C&I) sector.

The project is expected to generate 33 million units of green energy annually, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 31,624 tonne. The commissioning of this project further solidifies HFE's renewable energy expansion in Karnataka.

Recently, the company signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the state government, committing Rs 11,000 crore towards investments in renewable energy and green hydrogen projects in the state.

Global CEO of HFE, Srivatsan Iyer, highlighted the project's significance, stating, "This project is yet another milestone open access initiative that expands our footprint in Karnataka and demonstrates our commitment towards industrial decarbonization. Through this, we aim to empower businesses and communities, and act as an end-to-end partner for our C&I clients in their net-zero journeys."

HFE, the renewable energy division of the Hero Group, is backed by renowned global investors, including International Finance Corporation (IFC) and KKR.
