Iraq Boosts Power Output to 170 MW with Increased Gas Supply

The Ministry of Oil announced an increase in the quantities of gas supplied by the North Gas Company to power stations by (50) megawatts. The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil for Gas Affairs, Mr. Izzat Saber, said that the staff of the North Gas Company, in cooperation and support from the North Oil Company and the Oil Pipelines Company, were able to increase the supply capacity by (50 megawatts) million standard cubic feet per day of dry gas, which contributes to increasing the rates of electrical energy production at the Dibs Gas Power Plant in Kirkuk Governorate by (60-80) megawatts, and the Kirkuk Gas Power Plant to (60) megawatts, and the Mosul Gas Power Plant to (40) megawatts.

 

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil for Gas Affairs, Mr. Izzat Saber, said that the national effort in the North Gas Company was able to increase the rates of supplying dry gas to the aforementioned stations by (50 megawatts), praising the efforts of the workers in the North Gas Company in achieving this achievement during an exceptional period, which contributes to enhancing national energy. For his part, the General Manager of the Northern Gas Company, Mr. Ahmed Abdul Majeed, said that increasing the rates of gas investment from the fields of the Northern Oil Company contributed to increasing the production of electrical energy to (170) megawatts from the aforementioned stations, stressing the company’s keenness to invest all available quantities of gas associated with oil operations, within the company’s area of responsibility.
