SJVN Commissions 90 MW Omkareshwar Floating Solar Project

SJVN has successfully commissioned its 90 MW Omkareshwar floating solar project. The project has been executed by SJVN Green Energy (SGEL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of SJVN.

With commissioning of the project, the total installed capacity of SJVN has been increased to 2,466.50 MW. This project is housed in Omkareshwar floating solar park located in Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh, and is one of the largest floating solar projects in Central and North India.

The power purchase agreement (PPA) has been executed between SGEL and REWA Ultra Mega Solar (RUMSL) and MPPMCL for 25 years. Developed at an outlay of Rs 646.20 crore, it is expected to generate 196.5 million units of energy in the first year, and cumulatively generate 4629.3 million units in 25 years.

On commissioning, it will reduce 2.3 lakh tonne of carbon emission, contributing to the Government of India’s mission of net-zero carbon emission by 2070.
