Iraq Inspects the Gas Investment Project in the Halfaya Field

A government delegation headed by the Prime Minister’s Advisor for Oil and Energy Affairs, Mr. Fayyad Hassan Nimah, inspected the gas investment and processing project in the Halfaya oil field in Maysan Governorate. The delegation included the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil for Distribution Affairs, Mr. Ali Maaraj, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil for Gas Affairs, Mr. Izzat Saber Ismail, and the Director General of the Department of Studies and Planning, Mr. Naseer Aziz.

 

The Prime Minister’s Advisor for Oil and Energy Affairs, Mr. Fayyad Hassan Neama, chaired a meeting that included officials from PetroGina, the main operator of the Halfaya oil field.

 

And the Director General of the Maysan Oil Company, Mr. Hussein Kazem Laibi, and a number of officials and stakeholders.

 

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil for Gas Affairs, Mr. Ezzat Saber, said that this field visit aims to review the ongoing preparations before the actual operation of the project begins soon.

 

He pointed out that this project is one of the most promising projects that have been completed to invest associated gas from the Halfaya field at a rate of (300) cubic meters (1 million standard cubic feet per day), where the invested quantities of gas will be transferred to supply electric power stations, in addition to investing in liquid gas, sulfur, and gas condensates.

 

He continued that the delegation visited the project site and viewed the facilities that were constructed during the completion period, which included liquid gas loading platforms and sulfur warehouses to be produced from the project.
