BPCL to Inject Rs 1700bn in Existing and New Energy Biz

Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) is embarking on a monumental investment journey, eyeing a Rs 1700 billion expenditure over five years. In a strategic move dubbed ‘Project Aspire,’ BPCL aims to fortify its core oil refining, fuel marketing, and petrochemical businesses while venturing into clean energy avenues like hydrogen production.

 

With a mission to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2040, BPCL’s investment roadmap encompasses diverse sectors, including refineries, petrochemicals, marketing, upstream production, gas, and green energy. Notable expansions include boosting refining capacity, adding petrol pumps, and venturing into renewable energy with plans for EV charging stations and biogas plants.

 

Additionally, BPCL is poised to play a pivotal role in India’s energy transition, aligning with the country’s goal of net-zero emissions by 2070. This ambitious investment drive underscores BPCL’s commitment to meet India’s burgeoning energy demands while championing sustainable energy solutions.
