Ministry of Oil Seek to Invest in Associated Gas from Halfaya Field

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil for Gas Affairs stressed the importance of the achievement by the Maysan Oil Company in investing the gas associated with oil operations from the Halfaya field in Maysan Governorate, and it represents an important and qualitative addition to the national production of invested gas, by stopping its burning and converting it into useful energy.

 

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil for Gas Affairs, Mr. Izzat Saber, said during an inspection tour of the Maysan Oil Company, that this visit comes under the direction of the Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and the Minister of Oil to follow up on associated gas investment projects in the Halfaya field, the completion of which is hoped to be celebrated at the end of the first quarter of this year. General, pointing out that Halfaya gas represents an important addition to the national gas production at a rate of “300” cubic feet (million standard cubic feet).

 

While chairing a meeting of officials at Maysan Oil Company and the Chinese company, the Undersecretary praised the efforts of the employees of the Maysan Oil Company and the supporting parties in achieving this achievement, and directed that the utmost efforts be made to accelerate the achievement of the goals of the government program and the ministry.

 

For his part, the Director General of the Maysan Oil Company, Mr. Hussein Kazem Laibi, said that the project consists of two energy units with a rate of (150) cubic meters per unit, in addition to the production of liquid gas at a rate of (2,300) tons per day, and good quantities of condensates and sulfur.

 

The Undersecretary's tour included meeting with officials and workers at work sites, and the company's general manager gave a briefing on plans to sustain and increase production from oil fields, and develop infrastructure.
