Reliance Industries Appoints Former IOC Chief Sanjiv Singh for its O2C Business

Reliance Industries has appointed former Indian Oil Corporation of India Chairman Sanjiv Singh as group president and member of the leadership team for the conglomerate’s oil-to-chemicals (O2C) business.

RIL is in the process of carving out the $ 75 billion O2C business into a separate division as a part of its plan to divest at least 20% stake in it. Singh’s appointment is a part of the plan to carve out the business into a separate entity.

Singh, who superannuated from his position at the state run oil marketing company on June 30 this year, will lead the group’s manufacturing services and will work closely with Executive Director Hital Meswani, the company said in an internal communication that ET has access to.

“Sanjiv will lead and drive the group manufacturing services organisation which is the backbone of our O2C business. As a member of the O2C leadership, we look forward to his contribution in driving manufacturing excellence and transition towards making Reliance O2C a global leader in energy and materials,” Meswani said in a letter to his colleagues.
