Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (SEWA), has been named a member of International Organisation for Electrical Energy Systems (Sigri).
The new membership will help SEWA contribute to enhancing participation and knowledge exchange among energy systems specialists worldwide besides helping improve sustainable electricity for all, developing specifications and standards.
It will also be useful in conducting research and studies and participate in conferences that will discuss technical and strategic challenges facing the energy sector.
SEWA Chairman Dr Rashid Al Leem said this membership with the international organization was very important.
"It will provide the maximum benefits of the specialised research and studies in the fields of energy, contributing in developing a better vision for the future of networks for sustainable development," he added.
