The company has already come to an understanding with the Pollution Control Board of Assam over the management of pollution and other issues.

In this regard, a public hearing will be held within February in Sivasagar to facilitate the public to interact, give suggestions and share information related to the exploratory surveys in the operational area. People will come to know about the benefits and other aspects of the issues.

Chief Executive of the Vedanta Group, KK Nayak said that his company was committed to the welfare of the region and he urged people to attend the public hearing and cooperate with their suggestions and advice.

The entire project will be executed on a policy of zero harm and zero discharge during drilling and production stages in collaboration with local people and district administration. The land acquisition process will be done only after full consent in writing keeping the district administration in the loop. All norms of Assam State Pollution Control Board, CPCB, Ministry of Environment and Forest, Assam Government will be followed assiduously. Currently, 2D and 3D seismic activities are being carried out in Jorhat, Sivasagar and Golaghat districts with 95 percent crew from Assam.
