Telangana to Raise Solar Capacity, Add 1,000 MW

Telangana will raise solar capacity by adding another 1,000 MW in the next six to eight months. With this, the total installed capacity of the state in the solar power segment will reach over 4,500 MW.

The state stands at the second position with a generation capacity of over 3,500 MW commissioned through solar power.

The state has a total installed capacity of 4,036 MW renewable energy power including solar energy (ground mount) at 3,583 MW, wind energy at 128 MW, apart from contribution from other renewable energy sources.

Moreover, the solar rooftop capacity has grown from two MW in 2014 to 60 MW while another 40 MW was in the pipeline.
