PGCIL Commissions Cuddapah Madhugiri Transmission System

The Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCIL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Powergrid Southern Interconnector Transmission System, has commissioned 400 kV Cuddapah Madhugiri Transmission System on 26 February 2019.

In the last six years, PGCIL and its subsidiaries have established more than 10 new 765/400 kV substations and strong high power capacity Inter-Regional Corridors, all ahead of schedule.

The Inter-Regional power flow which was 3,800 MW is now 10,000 MW. This has eased power situation in the entire South Grid. The project under execution in the Southern Region Transmission System-I, a 765 kV Vemagiri- Chilkaluripeta-Cuddapah line of 4,500 MW Capacity Corridor will enable drawing of power from Odisha.
