BP India Likely to Complete KG-D6 Project by Next Year

British Petroleum (BP) India on Tuesday said that it expects to complete the entire Krishna Godavari Dhirubhai 6 (KG-D6) project by next year. RIL, along with its partner BP India, is developing three sets of oil and gas discoveries at a cost of Rs 400 billion.

 

Sashi Mukundan, Regional President and India Head of BP Group, said, “We have got three fields in KG-D6 which we are now developing. One is the R-Series, the second is Satellites and third is MJ which was the discovery we have made in 2013."

 

“R-Series and Satellites are in development, so we are laying the pipeline and also the wells are being drilled; three wells have already been drilled and we have completed part of it. We should be going through next winter when we will complete the project and the intent is to get the first gas going by the middle of next year,” he added.

 

Talking about retail business, Mukundan said, “We were given the approval to put up to 3,500 retail stations in India. We are in the process of developing our plans for it and the intent is that we want to develop a plan which will not only work for today but it should also work for the future.”
