Oman Society for Petroleum Services Appoints New CEO

Oman Society for Petroleum Services (OPAL) has recently appointed Abdulrahman Al-Yahyaei as its new Chief Executive Officer.

 

The appointment was made by the OPAL Board of Directors as a continued development strategy and a method of allowing new ideas to flow into the sector by appointing highly distinguished personnel as team leaders for OPAL.

 

“We at OPAL, the voice of Oman’s oil and gas Industry, believe that at every new step we take, we are helping the industry and the community to become much better and more productive. OPAL provides great benefits to its members like standards, training, labour market intelligence research, compliance verification certificates, HSE management system, engagements in various oil & gas forums, advisory services and business promotion,” said a board statement.

 

Abdulrahman joins OPAL with more than 16 years of diverse professional experience in business marketing, planning, finance and business development and has held several senior positions in government and oil and gas Industry. His most recent role was as the Director at Occidental Oil Asia, responsible for marketing and operations in the Arab Gulf region.

 

Al Yahyaei holds a Bachelor’s degree in financial accounting from Sultan Qaboos University and an MBA from the University of Strathclyde.

 

Speaking on  his appointment, Al Yahyaei said: “I’m here for the same reason that I think most people join OPAL; we are here to standardise certain industry practices and enhance skills through world class training that empowers people to do amazing things, including empowering our youth and future generations in order to sustain prosperity of the energy sector.”
