Iraq to Dig 20 Wells in Nasiriyah Field

Dhi Qar Oil Company signed a contract to drill 20 wells in the field of Nasiriyah. In accordance with the directives of Mr. Thamer Ghadhban, Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and the Minister of Oil for the purpose of completing the expansion project for the field of Nasiriyah, Mr. Ali Ward, Director General of Dhi Qar Oil Company in the Ministry of Oil signed a contract with the Iraqi Drilling Company in the presence of its Director General Mr. Bassem Mohammed Khudair to complete the drilling of 20 oil wells.

 

Fayyad Al-Nehmeh, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil for Extraction Affairs and Ministry officials attended the signing ceremony.

 

Ward said to Dhi Qar Oil Company that this contract comes within the project of developing the field of Nasiriyah to increase the production capacity of oil and gas, noting that this project is implemented by national efforts within the strategy of the ministry and plans to develop some of its fields with a national content policy, stressing that the implementation of the work will be through four drilling towers.

 

The Director General praised the support of the Minister of Oil and his Undersecretary for Extraction Affairs, expressing at the same time his great respect and appreciation for the efforts of engineering, technical, administrative, financial and legal staff of Dhi Qar Oil Company and their efforts in preparing drilling programs for the success of this contract, which contributes to support the artery of the Iraqi economy by raising the production capacity of its oil fields and development and business success in them.
