Solar Power Panels Installed in NLCIL Buildings

As part of the Neyveli Lignite Corporation India Limited’s (NLCIL) commitment to produce 4,251 megawatt through solar and wind energy, the company has installed solar panels on the terraces of its seven office buildings, at a cost of ₹5.49 crore.

 

Under the first phase, NLCIL has installed solar power panels in its corporate office, Central Technical Office (CTO), Public Relations Office, Guest House, Mines Administrative Office, Material Management Complex and Township Administration Building.

 

The project could generate 1,067 KW and has been awarded to Enrich Energy, Pune through Rajasthan Electronic and Instruments Limited, Jaipur, the implementation agency for the Ministry of Coal. Chief Managing Director (Additional charge) and Director (Finance) Rakesh Kumar commissioned the project installed on CTO building two days ago, the power utility said in a press release. Mr. Kumar said that the Union Government had fixed the target of producing 1.75 lakh MW power through the renewable energy sector by 2025.
