L&T Wins Contract for 380kV Substation and OHTL in Saudi Arabia

Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) has awarded a contract to Larsen & Toubro Construction, India for the construction of Al Uwayqilah 380kV BSP and 380kV Overhead Transmission line between Buhira BSP and Tabouk BSP.

 

Al Uwayqilah 380kV BSP:

 

The value of the contract is SAR 125.4 million (USD 33.4 million).

 

Project scope of work includes construction of new indoor 380/132kV Gas Insulated Substation (GIS) named as Al Uwayqilah 380kV BSP in the eastern region of Saudi Arabia

 

Major equipment includes, Protection & Control System, Substation Automation System, Telecommunication System, Security System, Cyber Security, Civil works and Electro-mechanical works. Project works also includes Installation, Testing & Commissioning of 380kV GIS, Power Transformers, Reactors supplied by SEC.

 

380kV OHTL Buhira BSP – Tabouk BSP:

 

The value of the contract is SAR 122.2 million (USD 32.6 million).

 

Projects scope of works includes construction of 380kV double circuit Overhead transmission line between Buhira BSP and Tabouk BSP in the western region of Saudi Arabia.

 

The project involves using of 4-795 kcmil ACSR/AW CONDOR conductor per phase and two (2) OPGW along the length of the new line. The new OHTL will be installed on latticed steel tower in vertical configuration. Approximate route length of OHTL is 80km.
